This week, Fred Meyer and UFCW Local 555 came together for two days of negotiations to work on your new contract.
Progress and Patience
We understand the importance of these discussions, and while progress has been slower than we’d hoped, we’re committed to getting this right. There’s still work ahead, but we firmly believe that through collaboration, we can reach an agreement that honors your hard work with better wages, maintains your access to quality, affordable healthcare, and a secure pension for your future.
Focusing on What Matters
We know that the bargaining process is most productive when we stay focused on the shared goal of creating a fair contract. That’s why we were surprised by the decision to take a strike authorization vote early in the process. We feel this step is premature and could distract us from the progress we all want to achieve. Fred Meyer is serious about investing in your future, and we urge the union to join us in prioritizing meaningful dialogue that keeps you working and benefits everyone.
Looking Ahead
Our next bargaining session is scheduled for Monday, August 19. Our commitment is to keep you informed every step of the way. Updates will be shared during huddles, posted on store communication boards, on FEED, and at www.fredmeyercba.com.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your store leader.
Your dedication to serving our customers and supporting one another is appreciated, and we’re here to support you in return.
Thank you for everything you do.
