Company and Union Agree to Contract Extension

Additional Meeting Dates Scheduled in February

What’s New: Fred Meyer and UFCW Local 300 union bargaining committees met this week to discuss their recent proposals. They reviewed the proposals and counter proposals on operational language, wages, healthcare, and pension benefits.

What’s Next: The bargaining committees are scheduled to meet again the week of February 5 to continue these conversations.

Contract Extension: While the Spokane Grocery, Meat and CCK contracts are set to expire on January 20, the union and company agreed to a contract extension. With a contract extension, your current wages and benefits remain the same as they are today. It’s business as usual, and you should continue to report to work according to your schedule.

Tentative Agreement: The bargaining committees reached tentative agreements on increasing vacation leave, notifying union of technology upgrades, and setting minimum hours for Helper and Courtesy Clerks.

Why It Matters: The goal is to reach an agreement that is good for you, with competitive wages, affordable health care benefits and a pension for your retirement, and good for the company, too. By working together, we believe we can reach this goal.

Bottom Line: Stay up-to-date through huddles with your store leader. Updates are posted on store bulletin boards and on this website.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment and service to our customers, our community, and each other.
